Adjust Time Part dialog

Below is the image of "Adjust Time Part" dialog and part of Input Panel for the general case. If you have not exceeded your waking time quota Adjust Time Part dialog is simpler. You can click on an item in the image below as well as on an item in the image of the simple dialog form, to learn about this particular item or you can read the step by step description below this image. Help Button Cancel Button OK Button Subtract From Button How much remains to be subtracted The desired time Activity to set the time part to Time unit selection combo box Input time part panel How much to subtract area Subtract From Area
Before open "Adjust Time Part" dialog, you should choose an activity to adjust time activating a cell in the activity row. In the image above, as an example, activity "Hobby" has been selected that can be seen looking at "You would like to have for" box of "Adjust Time Part" dialog. As for the active cell in Input Panel in the image above (Jogging), it was activated AFTER the opening of the Adjust Time Part dialog and corresponds to the activity from which time will be subtracted to compensate the lack of time for Hobby.

Actually "Adjust Time Part" dialog may have much less items than in above image (see below). Above image corresponds to the case when you required for an activity such a large time part value, that total sum of all time parts exceeded all the available waking time for a day and hence you should diminish time part in an activity or in some of them. If the sum of all time parts is in available limits, the "Adjust Time Part" dialog will have fewer items

After the opening of "Adjust Time Part" dialog you might like to change in which units to set the time part. By default the time part in measured in percents of day waking time. However in many cases it may be more convenient to input time that you would like to spend for an activity in terms of hours per day, week or month. To do so click the drop-down arrow at the right part of "In terms of" box and than select the desired units (%, hours per day, hours per month or hours per month). The program will remember your favorite units for each activity. In our example we chose "hours per day".

If it is enough time for you activity in a day, i.e. if Adjust Time Part dialog looks similar to the image below you can click OK button. But if there is not enough time and the dialog looks like in the image above you should diminish the time part until the dialog will looks like the image below.

If you agree for the smaller time part you can simply type new time part in the left box at the third line from the top (in the sample image above it has number 8 in it now). The box at the line below (" hours per day needs to be subtracted from others" with 0.56 in sample image above) shows how much time you should subtract to be in the available limits. No need to do the calculations in mind. In the example above you can just type 8 - 0.56 instead of 8 and program will calculate the difference. Of course in the sample above instead of 0.56 you could type any larger number not exceeding 8.

If there is not enough the waking time for all activities but it is important for you to have the planned time part for an activity, you have to subtract time parts from another activities. To do so while dialog Adjust Time Part is opened activate a cell in a row with the activity from which you would like to borrow some time. In the image above activity Jogging from division Health is activated. Now in the left text box at the last line of Adjust Time Part dialog you will be able to see the maximum value that you can subtract from selected item (0:20 in the image above. As the next step in the left box at the line with Subtract from: type how much time you would like to subtract (0:10 in the above example) and click Subtract button. If needed (as in example above), repeat this procedure for other activities until the dialog will look like the image below that means that you have now enough waking time for the activity and can click OK button.

If you click Cancel button the dialog will be closed without any change in time parts. Clicking Help button will open this help.
