The Scrum and Agile are Mainstream in Programming

I don’t know whether you already have noticed it but the agile software development methods and  the scrum in particular are now in the mainstream.

First in the poll  69 percent responded that their organization was currently doing agile and an additional 73 percent indicated that they believed it would happen within the year. Second the author of this survey Scott Ambler is now  the  Practice Leader Agile Development at IBM Corporation in the IBM Methods group.

Microsoft includes agile method as  one of the templates in their Team Foundation Server that is supplied with the advanced version of their Visual Studio.

And finally Google implemented Scrum in Adwords.

Indeed, it is the mainstream. But why it happened now and not earlier? I will try to answer this question in the future posts.
